Get to know the rich gastronomic traditions of Bogotá in this unique guided tour. Over the course of the tour, you’ll enjoy delicious drinking chocolate with fresh cheese, almojábana, tamal, and a traditional Bogotano breakfast called Santafereño. We’ll begin our tour in the neighborhood La Candelaria, an historic district full of magic and history that so characterizes our city. We’ll walk through the colonial streets to a dessert shop, where you can sample a variety of artisan desserts, all made in the traditional way. We’ll continue towards one of the most important markets in the city. This market is a bazaar of colors, smells, and flavors with an enormous variety of fruits, vegetables, meats, seafood, and regional products from around the country. You’ll find a mixture of common and exotic foods, all of which you are free to taste. Once we’ve finished wandering the aisles and tasted our fill, we’ll head to Usaquén, one of the most upscale neighborhoods in Bogotá. Usaquén was once a settlement on the outskirts of the city and surrounded by farms such as Santa Ana, Santa Bárbara, and El Cedro. Today, each of these farms is its own neighborhood with housing complexes, shops, malls, and restaurants featuring some of the most tantalizing haute cuisine of Bogotá surrounded by colonial churches and buildings. We’ll have a special reservation just for you at an important restaurant so you can savor exquisite regional dishes in this charming atmosphere
