Once your private guide picks you up from your hotel, you’ll head toward the Plaza Botero in downtown Medellín where you can see all 23 statues the artist donated to the community. Botero’s celebrity as a local artist earned him a place inside the Antioquia Museum, the next stop on your tour. Your guide will walk you through the artist’s most recent works, named “Circo,” as well as other recognized international and national artists. Next, we’ll go to the Museum of Modern Art, where contemporary artists display new collections every month.Finally, we’ll pay a visit to the majestic Castillo Museum in the heart of the financial district. This museum offers insight into the entrepreneurial spirit of Paisas such as Diego Echavarría. Echavarría founded the first Colombian textile company named Coltejer, which has its headquarters downtown and once built the tallest building in the city—36 floors high.
